Where Does the Stick Welder Fit In Among the Various Welding Techniques?

How a Stick Welder Forms a Weld
In stick welding, an electric current flows unswervingly between a gap between the metal and the “stick” of the arc-welding electrode. This heat current melts part of the electrode, when then mixes with the metal of the work piece to form the weld.
The weld produced has a protective shield around its arc. This is formed from the flux coating of the heat-producing electrode.
